Sustainable styling with Savvy Exchanger
“You’re not too old yet”…
It’s only dawning on us now as we write this blog post what Savvy meant on her poster when she wrote “You’re not too old yet”. Imagine half the things that we sometimes feel insecure about and eventually tell ourselves, or someone else tells us that it’s fine , you’re not that old anyway. Then we give it another chance. What if we did that with everything else around us? Give them a second chance? We would always make full use of everything around us. Ha, sustainability. Okay Savvy, we see what you did there!

Sivona, or Savvy as everyone else would know her, is not a new face to us. She is a stylish lady with an absolutely bubbly personality, and meeting her in the bathroom on a night out, that bit of her was amplified, I mean, we all know how it is with girls in bathrooms on a night out. They could change the world! She talked about a fashion go green community that she had and her WeChat group as well. She had us at fashion, and the rest of the conversation was a start of a great acquaintance.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve gotten to know her and she hosts second-hand swap n' shop events paired with street food vendors, live music, styling workshops, photo sessions, and much more. These are some of the cutest events we’ve been too. Very interactive, one would feel like they were a part of something at the end of the day, and you might actually pick up a very unique pre-loved item from her events.

The other day she had her “You’re not too old yet” which was like a big market where she put together all the events she’s had in the past. They are a team of 3, with Giulio, who did the vision. He’s a fashion designer, tattoo artist, chef, and we could almost swear we saw him DJ as well at some point. He brought a lot of vibes to the market. Such a rockstar! With the vision in place, Savvy and Tina then tied everything together. We were in awe when we got there. it was nothing that we had imagined. There were multiple booths for clothes, donations, accessories, street art, DJ booth and and and…. and it was also pet friendly too! At some we did whisper to each other that “Savvy, really knows what she’s doing hey!”
The vibe alone at the event was quite amazing. You could have easily gone by yourself and had a good time. The crowd had so many different styles, it was such a vibrant atmosphere. Also managed to pick a few pieces for ourselves which we got at a very good bargain. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and cannot think of another way we could have spent this afternoon. We are hoping to see more of these in the summer, and if you are ever in Shanghai, look out for the Savvy Exchanger events.
